Wal-Mart loss prevention managers had asked police to be present to question a cashier who had stolen $950 over a six-week period. The man was asked when he first started taking money. He said it was about a month ago and that he had taken about $300 total. The man said he would knock the money on the floor and then go back and pocket it at a later time and that he had done this four to five times. The man said he did it because he was having a hard time paying all of his bills and that he needed his truck fixed. The officer asked him if he knew what he did was wrong. The man said that it was absolutely wrong, that he was sorry and that he will pay it all back. The man was charged with theft, and the surveillance video will be entered into evidence.

Police were called in reference to a disturbance. A male and female had been arguing. The woman said that her boyfriend had been throwing things around the house and had hit her so she started walking down the driveway. The man said that he threw the woman’s stuff around the house because he was mad at her and then when she got home she started hitting and scratching him so he hit her in the stomach. The man and woman were both transported to the jail and were both placed into custody. The woman was charged with harassment and domestic violence and the man was charged with criminal mischief and domestic violence.

A man said he was riding his bike down Montezuma Ave. when he passed a little girl and a dog sitting in a car. The man said that he heard the little girl tell her dog to “get him.” The man said the dog then ran after him and bit him on his right leg. The man told police that he didn’t want to get in trouble but that the little girl’s parents should have a talk with her. The owner of the dog said she knew her dog chased the man but doesn’t believe that her dog ever bit the man. The man went to the hospital for the bite where he got a tetanus shot and antibiotics. Then man still said he didn’t want to press charges. The owner said that the dog did have the rabies vaccine.

Police saw a green Dodge van with a broken passenger taillight driving down Main. The driver also turned several times without using a signal and ran over a curb. When the vehicle was pulled over, the police asked the driver for identification and noticed that he was twitching and moving rapidly. The driver’s entire body was sporadically and twitching and his eyes stayed dilated. The officer asked the man if he had been drinking or if he had used any illegal drugs. The man said that he had used meth within the last couple of hours. The man also had a warrant and a suspended driver’s license. The man was transported to the jail and served with a summons for DUI, drove vehicle while license under restraint and for not using a turn signal.
