Friday, June 7

A woman reported her vehicle stolen after she told her grandson he was not allowed to take it. She said she never gave her grandson permission to take her vehicle but that he knew where the keys were kept. The woman went to bed and woke up to find her keys, her vehicle and her grandson gone. The woman stated that she thinks her grandson took off with her car and ran since he had violated his probation. After police reported the vehicle stolen. They advised the woman that her vehicle had been found in Flagstaff, Ariz., and that her grandson was in custody.

Friday, June 14

Police reported to Texas Street in reference to a disturbance. When they arrived a man had his brother detained on the living room floor, handcuffed. The man said that his mother had called him over because his brother was causing a disturbance. The man said when he arrived at his mothers’ house that his brother was yelling, threatening and cursing. The man also said that his brother had a brass antique stirrup and hit him in the eye with it. The man said that he was able to take his brother to the floor after a struggle and put handcuffs on him to stop him. The man said that when his brother hit him that it caused him pain and that he wanted to press charges. The brother was arrested, and during the booking procedure a syringe and a needle were found in his sock. The man’s mother said that her son was out of control and that she was afraid of him. She said that her son had a bad drug habit and that he was also bipolar and did not take his medication. which makes him violent.

Saturday, June 15

A man was trespassing and was attempting to gain entry into a locked dumpster. The man was carrying a brown paper bag, which contained an open 24-ounce can of alcohol beverage. The man was asked if he noticed anybody trying to get into the locked dumpster. He said that he didn’t know the dumpster was locked until he tried to open it because he could smell marijuana. He was also asked if he noticed the no trespassing sign and he said no. The owner of the store was notified of the incident and wanted to press charges against the man. The man was cited with trespassing and for having an open container. The person that reported the incident said that she was aware of the problem that people were trying to get into the dumpster because of the marijuana plant stalks inside.

Sunday, June 16

Dispatch advised police of a disturbance in progress in the 500 block of Second Street, stating that a male was yelling and hitting mailboxes. Dispatch further advised that the male had also hit and choked a female and then had picked her up and was carrying her. When police arrived the male had blood on his right hand and the female had a small cut under her right nostril and her neck appeared red. The male was told that he was going to be searched and said agreed but then kept putting his hand in his pocket and standing sideways. The officer found a marijuana pipe and two small bottles of alcohol. The man was then arrested. The woman said that the man did not assault her in any way, that they were just going to get some burritos and that she had assaulted herself by hitting her face on a fence. Witnesses gave probable cause for the arrest of the man. The man had damaged eight mailboxes, which would cost $20 each to fix. The man was cited for assault, domestic violence and criminal mischief.
