Thursday, Aug. 27

8:12 a.m. A woman reported receiving threatening Facebook messages. A woman was ticketed for harassment and menacing.

1:15 p.m. Police responded to Walmart for a shoplifter. No details were provided regarding what items were stolen. A woman was arrested and charged with two counts of drug possession and theft.

7:44 p.m. Police responded to the 2300 block of East Main Street after a man reported that he was assaulted by three police officers. Police observed the man crash a motorized bicycle while investigating the case. While in police custody, a 15-minute incident described as thrashing and yelling ensued while the man was provided medical treatment at the hospital. The man was arrested and charged with violating a court order to refrain from alcohol, harassment and obstruction.

Friday, Aug. 28

12:43 p.m. Police responded to City Park for a disturbance. A man reportedly harassed a group holding a barbecue for food. After the group opted not to press charges, the man was arrested and charged with possession of alcohol in the park.

9:14 p.m. While responding to an unrelated call in Parque da Vida, police observed a man acting suspiciously. The man was ticketed for open container and possession of alcohol in the park.

Sunday, Aug. 30

12:33 a.m. Police responded to the Happy Valley Trailer Park for a disturbance. A woman reported that she was slapped, punched and kicked in the face. An arrest warrant for assault and domestic violence was requested for the alleged suspect.

2:14 p.m. A man reported that his child’s mother scratched him during an argument at their residence on the 500 block of West 6th Street. The woman claimed that she was thrown down, shaken and kicked. The case was referred to prosecutors for further investigation.

7:39 p.m. Police responded to the Maverick Convenience Store for a fight. A woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and a man was arrested for disturbing the police.

Monday, Aug. 31

5:41 p.m. A man reported that a briefcase containing a $168 paycheck and a Kindle reader was stolen from his possibly unlocked vehicle on the 10 block of South Beech Street.

Tuesday, Sept. 1

2:58 a.m. Police observed a motorist driving with a loud exhaust on along East Main Street near the Washington Street intersection. The driver was arrested and charged with driving under restraint, defective muffler and lack of insurance.

8:56 a.m. Police responded to Centennial Park after a man and woman were spotted drinking. Both were ticketed for open container and possession of alcohol in the park.

12:05 p.m. A Walmartemployee reported that her $500 bicycle was stolen while she was at work. The cable lock was reportedly hacked.

Wednesday, Sept. 2

1 a.m. On patrol, police observed a motorist speeding, 46 in a 25 mph zone, along the 300 block of East Main Street. The vehicle also reportedly weaved while traveling on South Broadway. A man was arrested and charged with DUI, weaving and speeding.

7:10 p.m. Police responded to the 1600 block of Rivera Street for a disturbance. A man reportedly threatened a family that was walking their dog. He was ticketed for disturbing the peace.

9:31 p.m. Police responded to Oak Meadows Trailer Park for a disturbance. A woman claimed that she had to yell, because her husband didn’t have hearing aids. After a neighbor complained the couple had been fighting, the man and woman were both ticketed for disturbing the peace.
