Pleasant View Fire donates truck

Larry Funk, president of United Search and Rescue, accepts a rescue truck from Rob Kingery of Pleasant View Fire.

The Pleasant View Fire Department has graciously donated a much-needed emergency rescue truck to the United Search and Rescue team of the Montezuma County Sheriff's department.

The donated vehicle is greatly appreciated, said Kirk Underwood, of USAR, and will improve emergency services in the area.

"This will get us into the desert and the mountains, and is much more reliable than our old ambulance," he said. "It is a big upgrade for us, and it was very generous of Pleasant View Fire."

The six-wheel drive, 2.5 ton ambulance has modern communications, a generator, lots of storage, and it can tow equipment trailers.
