Piñon Project will host a free art workshop series for local youth on select Fridays.

The first workshop, “Clay with Klara,” took place this past Friday. The remaining workshops will take place on April 5 for “Anime with Jordan,” April 12 for “Paint with Matthias” and “Spray Paint with Carlos,” plus April 19 for “Perform with Anita.”

Each workshop is happening from 10 a.m. to noon at the indoor skate park at 30 Beech St.

The workshops are free and do not require pre-registration to attend. Students are welcome to attend as many of the workshops as they wish. All materials will be provided, as well as snacks and instruction.

Those who need a ride can email Ellis McNichol at emcnichol@pinonproject.org.

The workshops will culminate in an art show that will take place April 25, and students are welcome to share their artistic creations.

The art show will include music, food, skating, prizes and more.

“Thank you to our collaborators & supporters including The Piñon Project, LOR Foundation, Good Sam’s Food Pantry, Young People in Recovery, Four Corners Food Coalition, SCYC and more,” organizers said.
