Since our commissioners are looking for new revenue opportunities for the landfill (i.e.: telecom tower placement), and are already on board with the idea of funding a convention center on county property, how about a convention center at the landfill?

There’s plenty of space, ready access to Cortez, it’s removed from NIMBYs and there are interesting recreational and educational opportunities to be had. Nature hikes! Olfactory walks! Amateur modern-day archaeological excavations! Endless possibilities!

We need out-of-the box thinking in solving our public policy issues.
