ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto has agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension with the Denver Broncos that's worth up to $120 million.

Bonitto's agency on Thursday announced the deal, which includes $70 million in guarantees.

At $26.5 million per year, Bonitto's extension ranks 10th among edge rushers in average annual value.

In his first season as a full-time starter last year, Bonitto collected 13 1/2 sacks and 48 tackles in helping the Broncos end an eight-year playoff drought.

Bonitto is the third Broncos star to sign an extension this summer, joining All-Pro defensive lineman Zach Allen and No. 1 wide receiver Courtland Sutton.

Allen's four-year, $102 million extension included nearly $70 million in guarantees and made him one of the NFL’s highest-paid interior defensive linemen in average annual salary.

Sutton's four-year, $92 million deal features $41 million in guaranteed money.

The Broncos open their season Sunday at home against Tennessee.
