Montezuma County did not report new COVID-19 outbreaks this week and more outbreaks have been resolved, according to data released Wednesday by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Since the pandemic started, 32 outbreaks have been reported in the county, according to state data. Eighteen are listed as active, and 14 have been resolved.

Outbreaks recently resolved are:

BeeHive Homes at the Cortez Homestead, resolved Jan. 25.Vista Grande Inn nursing home, resolved Jan. 11.Tiger by the Tail, resolved Jan. 5.Vista Mesa Assisted Living, resolved Jan. 4.On Feb. 24, the Montezuma County Public Health Department reported 183 active COVID-19 cases, down from 280 cases on Feb. 17, a 34% decrease.

There have been 1,492 people who have recovered from the disease and 13 deaths caused by the virus.

As of Feb. 23, 7,121 people in the county have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 1,959 had received the second dose.

Vaccine distribution is in Phase 1B.2, which includes Coloradoans ages 65-69, school teachers and child care workers in licensed programs.
