The Beyond Trafficking Team, in collaboration with the Southwest Colorado Task Force, is hosting its second annual Not on Our Watch event on Saturday, Aug. 23. This event, which is meant to bring awareness to child protection and prevent child exploitation, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Circle K Ranch, 27758 Colorado Highway 145 in Dolores.
This gathering is designed to provide parents, educators, community leaders and residents with practical tools, knowledge and strategies to prevent child sexual exploitation and foster safer environments for children in Montezuma County and across Colorado.
The event will feature interactive, hands-on training sessions led by nationally recognized experts in the field of child exploitation prevention. Participants can learn effective prevention techniques and network with others who are passionate about protecting children in the community. The program emphasizes community-driven solutions and will encourage attendees to take an active role in protecting children and making a lasting impact in their lives.
“Each of us has a role to play in protecting the most vulnerable members of our community – our children,” said task force coordinator Stephanie Rocha. “The ‘Not on Our Watch’ event is more than just a gathering; it’s a movement that empowers individuals to become informed and united in this critical mission. Together, we are declaring, ‘Not on Our Watch!’”
Admission is free, but registration is required because space is limited. Interested individuals can secure their spot and access additional details about the program online at https://bit.ly/4f7rrmA. Early registration is encouraged.
