Potential September cleanup will be evaluated
Cortez City Manager John Dougherty joined in the cleanup efforts in 2019, taking on some of the downtown streets.
Cortez will not hold any spring cleanup events this year.
In past years, the city has held a Cleanup Week in May. Locals were encouraged to clean out their garages, clean their yards and beautify the town. Items were set out at the curb and picked up by city crews, at no extra cost to the homeowner.
According to an announcement on the city’s website, conditions will be evaluated later this year for a possible cleanup in September.
