Les Schwab Tire Centers celebrated the grand opening of its new Cortez store on June 13, welcoming about 200 community members with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a tire donation to the Piñon Project and activities for attendees.
The opening event, which was held at the 5,200-square-foot facility at 41 N. Edith St., included a barbecue lunch prepared by a Les Schwab employee, treats from The Pie Maker and free merchandise and gift cards.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at 11 a.m. after Les Schwab donated tires on the Piñon Project’s Chevrolet Express G3500 as part of Piñon’s Tires for Purpose program.
The tires donated to the Piñon Project will help the nonprofit continue to transport local youths from their schools to their after-school programs, Friday activities and Summer Youth Program at the Piñon Project.
“We’re thrilled to join the Cortez community,” said assistant manager Gabriel Clark. “At Les Schwab, great service extends to our neighbors. The turnout was heartwarming, and we look forward to building relationships with customers while learning from them daily.”
The new store offers comprehensive services, including tires, brakes, alignments, shocks, oil changes, custom wheels and batteries for passenger vehicles, trucks, farm and industrial equipment.
