There is a new dentist in town, and his brand-new office just opened up a few weeks ago.

The Sundance Dental and Orthodontics office, at 111 South Sligo near Walmart and Walgreens, is taking patients. Sundance opened Oct. 7.

The staff is excited to be open and working in a brand-new clinic.

“They brought in the best technology,” said Mike Darias, DDS. “We are excited.”

Sundance Dental and Orthodontics offers full-service dental service. Services include cleanings, fillings, implants, sedation visits, orthodontics, root canals, surgery and digital X-rays.

Darias recently moved to the area with his family from San Francisco, but he is originally from Utah.

“We love the area. We love the outdoors,” Darias said.

Sundance is a New Mexico-based dental office with seven branches. The one that opened in Cortez this month is the first in Colorado. While Darias doesn’t offer all the services listed above, between the seven offices, there is an expert dentist from all areas that will travel to the Cortez location once or twice a month.

“We want to offer all the services,” Darias said.

Darias also said he loves working with children.

“We love working with kids. I nearly went into that as a specialty,” he said.

Walk-ins are also welcome at Sundance.
