Muscanell Millworks announces new corporate officers

Muscanell Millworks Inc. of Cortez has named longtime employee Bobby Comisky president of the company and Jolene McElwain, who joined the company in 2019, secretary/treasurer.

Muscanell Millworks, founded in Cortez in 1986 by Doug Muscanell and Karen Harbaugh, was sold to Lägler GmbH of Germany in 2017. The new owners have maintained the location, employees and mission of the company.

Comisky, a Montezuma County native, has worked for the company for 25 years and is in charge of operations. He is a 1997 graduate of Moontezuma-Cortez High School and is a member of the Lewis-Arriola Fire Protection District.

McElwain moved to Cortez from Portland, Oregon. She has a bachelor’s degree from George Fox University and an master’s in accounting from Keller Graduate School. McElwain is involved in all administrative aspects of management.
