Montezuma County to host next traveling town hall in Mancos

Resident can directly ask questions to local officials April 6

Montezuma County commissioners will host a traveling town hall next month in Mancos.

The meeting will give residents an informal chance to raise local concerns or ask questions directly to county officials. It is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 6, at the Community Center at 130 Grand Ave.

Unlike regular commission meetings, town halls do not follow a formal agenda or designated topic. Instead, they are open question-and-answer sessions.

Commissioners use the meetings to address community concerns, respond to misinformation and provide brief updates on county decisions and projects. Residents may also share feedback.

County officials began hosting the traveling town halls about a year ago to increase evening access for residents who cannot attend daytime meetings. The sessions rotate every two to three months among communities including Mancos, Dolores, Lewis-Arriola, Pleasant View and Cortez.

The next town hall is tentatively planned for Dolores in early summer.
