The Montezuma-Cortez School District has multiple open positions and is interested in hiring recent graduates to fill the roles.

The Montezuma-Cortez School District RE-1 has announced it is hiring paraprofessionals, bus aides, cooks and secretaries at all of its campuses, targeting recent graduates and others interested in starting a career in education.

The positions require no college degree and include on-the-job training. Employees would support students, assist teachers with various activities and organization, and serve as positive role models for students.

They described the open positions as “steppingstones” that can help students who are interested in working in the field of education. A college tuition assistance program is also available for education degrees at Fort Lewis College.
