Just two days before Memorial Day, on Saturday, May 24, Circle K Ranch in Dolores is hosting an event to remember and honor those who have served our country and community.
The free Hero Connections event will celebrate local veterans, active duty military, law enforcement, first responders, their families and those who have died on duty.
From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be live music and a cookout at 27758 Colorado Highway 145.
Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to get a headcount for food – again, it’s free to attend! RSVP online or email events@ckranch.com to secure a spot.
There will be horses there, too, and a hands-on opportunities to interact with them. Overall, it will be “peaceful setting for the entire family,” said Candy Claunch, the manager at Circle K Ranch, in an email.
Plus, “we will be setting up a fallen heroes table for guests to add a name or comment for a friend or loved one who was lost in the line of duty,” said Claunch.
The Heros Connections event is just one of many programs it puts on with a goal that “each man, woman and child will leave the ranch with renewed hope, knowing they’re not alone, with tools and experiences to help them thrive in life,” according to its website.
Coming up, in addition to the May 24 event, there is a program supporting single moms, a healing and recovery program, and individual and family equine-based coaching.
