Teacher Melinda Green, of Dolores, has earned an award for Instructional Excellence Award from the Computer Technologies Program of Colorado Community Colleges Online.

Green has taught online classes since 2008 for CCCOnline, a statewide consortium of the 13 community colleges in Colorado. Classes she has taught include Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and web design. She retired in 2016 after 18 years at Southwest Colorado Community College, where she was a full-time faculty member teaching computer, office and graphic design classes. She also served as academic director.

Green’s program chairwoman, Kate Hagerty, nominated her and said, “She is an exemplary instructor, professional and friendly with students and colleagues alike. She is always willing to work with students, keeps the online classroom a warm, yet instructive place, and has been helpful in maintaining and updating the constantly changing multimedia classes. I’m pleased to have such a stable, warm, helpful and knowledgeable instructor on our team.”
