Susana Kirk has opened a massage therapy business as part of Desert Willow Wellness Center at 321 North St. in Cortez.

Kirk offers massage and hot stone therapy, acupuncture, intuitive wellness healing and other services.

“The goal is to help people feel better and have empowerment and healing in their lives,” she said Wednesday.

Desert Willow Wellness opened in September, and Kirk joined in October. She has been practicing her craft for 23 years.

Kirk recently moved to Southwest Colorado from the Front Range. She says it’s better than the Front Range.

“It’s beautiful here,” she said.

Kirk said one partner specializes in Mayan abdominal massages.

“It’s for people who want to relax,” she said.

Kirk also creates aura paintings, which she said can be therapeutic.
