Library to host artist Russell Box

By Jessie O'Brien/Special to the Times<br><br>A display of Ignacio artist Russell Box Sr. is the centerpeice to the Southern Ute Museum's "Inside Out" exhibit. The show features the work of 10 native artists.

The Literary Friday series will feature biographer Judith Stone, interviewing Southern Ute artist Russell Box S.r at 10 a.m. Oct. 18 at Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

Box is a tribal elder whose artwork hangs in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, and one whose wisdom is highly regarded.

The event will feature a PowerPoint presentation as well as original art, prints and books for sale. This is a free event and refreshments will be provided.
