Learn about Southwest Colorado Opportunity Zones

A presentation on Opportunity Zones, a federal program to encourage investment in distressed areas, will be offered on Nov. 7 at the Durango Public Library from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The presentation will explain how Opportunity Zones and Opportunity Funds work through capital gains tax deferrals, deductions and exclusions. Learn what businesses and projects might be eligible and the impacts to a community as well as where the six Opportunity Zones in Southwest Colorado are located.

Presenters include Jana Persky, Office of Economic Development and International Trade; Shawn Bertini, Four Points Funding; and legal information from Snell & Wilmer LLP.
