The identity of the victim of a fatal accident at the Montezuma County landfill Monday morning has been released.

Chris Rezek, 49, died after being crushed accidently by a hydraulic dump trailer, reported deputy coroner George Deavers.

Rezek was working alone dumping a load of construction materials. His body was discovered by a commercial trash truck worker.

Rezek was the owner of Best Cleaning and Disaster Restoration Services Inc.

“We were all friends here, and he will be terribly missed by his employees and the community,” said employee Diana Piccoli.
