Right-handed pitcher Jack Byers, about to enter his senior year at Artesia High, has already received a pair of offers from Division I schools like Oklahoma State, Oregon State and Texas Tech. Byers led the Bulldogs with an 8-1 record on the mound as the Bulldogs captured the Class 4A state title last spring. Byers started one game for ABA this summer, striking out eight hitters, allowing three earned runs and walking only one in a 5-4 win of the NM qualifying tournament.
Catcher Ramon Corona, a recent graduate of Boswell (Texas) High School and recent commit to McLennan Community College, is one of two catchers on the roster. Corona achieved a .421 batting average this summer with 16 runs batted in and 11 runs scored. Corona caught more than 77 innings for D-Bat over the summer and will share time behind the plate with Jake Pickering, who both appear to be very talented at the position.
Right-handed pitcher Brayden Montes threw 15 innings for the Patriots this summer, winning two of his four starts and striking out 24 batters while surrendering only two runs on seven hits. Montes is a 2025 graduate from Jesuit College Prep and headed to Henderson State University in Arkansas.
Third baseman Anthony Del Angel, from Cleveland High School, was recently named the Gatorade baseball player of the year from New Mexico and led the Storm with a .534 batting average, driving in 28 runs and was a perfect 13-for-13 on stolen base attempts. Already committed to Oklahoma University, Del Angel is one of more than two dozen players representing the state of New Mexico in this year’s Connie Mack World Series.
Third baseman Luke McCleod, a graduate of Hardin-Jefferson (Texas) High and LSU-Eunice College commit, is one of the top 60 players at the position in America according to Perfect Game. He plays a variety of positions and was named First Team All-State Outfielder and Second Team All-State Pitcher by the Texas Sports Writers Association. McCleod collected five runs batted in during two of the last three games the Redskins played in heading to the CMWS. In his senior season, McCleod batted .354 for the Hawks with 23 runs scored and 10 RBI.
Outfielder Maximus Wiley, a Midland College commit coming off his senior season at Richland (Texas) High School, is coming to the CMWS with a .350 batting average this season with 11 RBI and nine runs scored. Wiley had a strong senior season with 23 RBI and 10 extra base hits for the Royals.
Right-handed pitcher/outfielder Jaxson Heard collected a pair of wins for the Express this summer, logging a .875 earned run average and striking out 20 batters over 16 innings on the mound. The recent graduate from Blanchard (Oklahoma) High School led his high school team to a state championship this past season, batting .453 with 66 runs batted in and 13 home runs. He was also 9-0 on the mound with 87 strikeouts and a 0.93 ERA in 60 innings pitched.
Infielder/pitcher Spencer Browning is a University of Arkansas commit entering his senior year at Pleasant Grove (Texas) High. Browning collected a .278 batting average this summer and is projected to be a second-round draft pick according to Perfect Game’s 2026 MLB Draft Board.
Right-handed pitcher Cash Dabbs had a 9-4 record last season with the Redlands (California) East Valley Wildcats. He led the team with 115 strikeouts and a 1.74 earned run average. The commit to the University of Louisiana is one of several pitching prospects on the Renegades roster. Redlands assistant coach Kevin Halamicek is the father of Ryan Halamicek, who tossed a complete game three-hitter for the Renegades in last year’s CMWS title game, striking out five Redskins hitters in a virtuoso performance on the tournament’s biggest stage.
First baseman/right-handed pitcher Karson Reeder is a University of Texas commit from Tomball (Texas) High School. Reeder had a double and a pair of RBI in a 15-0 rout over the Oklahoma Fuel last week.
Infielder Carson Brumbaugh is ranked 31st in the nation at shortstop by Perfect Game and is the ranked third in Oklahoma at the position. Brumbaugh, committed to the University of Arkansas, is a graduate of Edmond Santa Fe (Oklahoma) High, leading the Wolves to a Class 6A state championship for head coach Kris Webb, who also led the Enid Majors to a 2021 Connie Mack World Series title.
First baseman Carter Brown capped off a spectacular prep career at Cactus Shadows (Arizona) High with a .509 batting average, along with 30 RBI and 27 runs scored. A commit to Pepperdine University, Brown had a phenomenal run in the West qualifying tournament with a .412 batting average and five runs scored.
