Round 6 of the 2025 Motocross season at RedBud was full of twists and turns, and not just those that were part of the race track. Though Jett Lawrence won both races and achieved another overall win for the weekend, issues with Eli Tomac’s bike led to his bike failing while he was riding in third place.

At the beginning of the first race, Hunter Lawrence claimed the hole shot while R.J. Hampshire and Jett Lawrence raced behind in second and third. Tomac started the race in 10th place.

Nearly simultaneously, Hampshire passed Hunter while Jorge Prado moved around Jett Lawrence. Hampshire’s lead was short-lived, however, as Hunter soon reclaimed first and Jett moved back to third. Tomac moved to sixth.

Jett Lawrence soon passed Hampshire and began challenging Hunter for the lead. Jett Lawrence passed Hunter Lawrence, but Hunter Lawrence passed him back and held him off on the downhill. And while Hunter Lawrence did his best to hold on to the lead, Jett Lawrence took first and began to put distance between himself and the other racers.

Tomac moved to fourth behind Aaron Plessinger before passing him on a corner.

Tomac’s third place position was short-lived. Soon, his bike began producing a large amount of smoke, forcing him to ride off the track. Hampshire, who had just passed Plessinger, moved to third.

Jett Lawrence won the race by nearly 15 seconds, followed by Hunter Lawrence and Hampshire.

In the second race, the Lawrence brothers didn’t have their normal starting speed, allowing Cody Schock to claim the hole shot. Prado rode right on Schock’s heels.

Jett Lawrence started in seventh and Hunter in 11th. Prado passed Schock for first and Justin Cooper moved to third. As Jett fell to 11th place, Hunter Lawrence moved to 10th.

Soon, Jett Lawrence crashed, pushing him back to the 18th position, while Hunter Lawrence moved to eighth. Cooper passed Schock for second.

At the 20-minute mark, Jett had moved to 7th place, while Hunter Lawrence rode in third behind Cooper and Prado. Hampshire moved to fourth.

Soon, Cooper moved to first, followed closely by Jett Lawrence, who had moved to second. Sexton rode in third, slightly ahead of Hunter Lawrence.

Before the race’s end, Jett moved to first for a “comeback of epic proportions,” while Sexton passed Cooper for second.

Sexton crashed before the finish line, however, allowing Cooper and Hunter to pass him for the top three. Jett Lawrence won the race by 10 seconds.

Round 7 of the 2025 Motocross season will be held on Saturday, July 12 at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minnesota.
