The Dolores School District and its BEST grant building project general contractor Jaynes Corp. are seeking local subcontractors to partner with as they build the new high school and remodel the old high school and other existing spaces.
The project, which is scheduled to unfold over the next two years, will include landscaping, utility infrastructure and more.
“We’re really looking for any contractors that can provide any of those scopes really,” a representative from Jaynes told The Journal. “So, it’s a pretty broad range. Any contractor that has commercial construction experience in any of those disciplines would be somebody that we’re interested in.”
Though many subcontractor roles have already been filled for Phase 1, interested subcontractors are encouraged to apply for gaps that may need to be filled or the first phase and Phases 2 and 3. The first phase mainly deals with installing temporary utilities and performing dirt work to prepare the site for upcoming construction, so positions in the additional two phases are still being filled. More detailed information about the additional two phases is still to come.
Jaynes listed Ryan Sorenson as a point of contact, and he can be reached at the Jaynes office at (970) 247-1831. For those interested in bidding, the best point of contact is the inquiry form available on the company’s website, www.jaynescorp.com.
This project aims to enhance educational facilities in the Dolores school district, with each phase building on the last to deliver a modernized campus. With funds from the BEST grant and a successfully passed mill levy override, the district is working to build a new high school and renovate the old high school into the new middle school, among other upgrades to the campus.
