A Durango man was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers on New Year’s Eve after agents in unmarked vehicles pulled him over, according to the Colorado Rapid Response Network.

ICE officers intercepted the man near 2425 West Third Ave. about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest confirmation the network posted to Facebook later that day.

ICE did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.

The man’s 17-year-old daughter and another family member were in the car at the time of the arrest, according to CRRN. His family contacted the response network immediately following the arrest and said the officers wore ICE vests, asked him to confirm his name, ordered him to exit the vehicle, handcuffed him and took him away.
