Hesperus Ski Area will add a few days to its operating schedule before concluding the 2022-23 ski season as originally planned March 19.

Next week, Hesperus will offer extended hours and daily operations for both lift-served skiing and tubing to help locals and visitors make the most of their last turns of the season.

The ski area has been operating Thursdays through Sundays this season but will be open all seven days next week.

Hesperus will also have different operating hours on a few days next week.

The ski will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 13-19.

The mountain is then scheduled to close as originally planned March 19 after running its lifts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hesperus’ terrain is 100% open, with skiing and riding available on 26 trails. The mountain is reporting a base depth of 54 inches after receiving a reported 147 inches of snow this season.

Uphill skiing will also conclude operations at Hesperus on March 19.

The ski season will continue in Southwest Colorado after Hesperus closes. Purgatory Resort is scheduled to close April 23, Silverton Mountain is planning to close April 16 and Wolf Creek Ski Area is estimating an April 9 finish.

Update: The ski area originally planned to be open for night skiing on Saturday, March 18, but will now be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to trouble with the mountain’s lights.
