In a time when most of us have instant access to digital news, it’s easy to keep up to date on national and international events, including some trenchant political cartoons.

At the same time, The Durango Herald still has its die-hard lovers of the orange-wrapped paper copy, which arrives on (or near) our driveways three times a week.

One of the pleasures of turning the pages is coming upon the occasional cartoon by our local journalist and artist, Judith Reynolds. She has a sharp eye for local events and satire, as well as a visually clear drawing style.

Please don’t send Mortie the cat, who always adds a bubble-wrapped zinger, to the pound. Give us more of Ms. Reynolds and her furry mascot!
