Former CIA analyst will talk about human migration

The Journal

At the Dec. 6 session of Lifelong Learning, Ron Garst will discuss “Human Migration: Myth and Reality.”

Garst, former provost at the National Intelligence University and research analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency, will examine early examples and types of human migration, different models and reasons for migration, and the impact on receiving areas. Since much of the reaction to migration is based on emotion and differs from reactions based on the reality portrayed by data, Garst will emphasize data to understand what is really happening.

The program will take place at 7 p.m at Nobel Hall, Room 130. Fort Lewis College. The talk is free of charge, and the public is welcome.
