Everyone is invited to participate with St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church at the first Fiesta De Cortez May 18 and 19.

The first day of the Fiesta starts Saturday at 11 a.m. with an art market, food sales and children's activities. Booths at the art market can be rented for $10 by contacting Patsy Archibeque at 565-9490, Cordy Valencia at 565-7394, or the church Office at 565-7308. A highlight of the day will be the concert by Mariachi San Luis, followed by dancing to the band Contacto del Norte at the County Annex beginning at 8 p.m. and ending at midnight. Tickets are $10 per person in advance or $12 at the door, and can be purchased from Patsy Archibeque or at the church office.

The second day starts at 9:45 Sunday morning with a procession from the American Legion parking lot to St. Margaret Mary's for a bilingual Mariachi Mass. That will be followed by a Mexican dinner and music by Mariachi San Luis. The menu will include tamales, carnitas, rice, enchiladas, tortillas and capirotada as dessert. Dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for kids at the door.
