Farmington Mayor Nate Duckett announced his reelection campaign Wednesday, using the media services of former city of Farmington spokesperson Georgette Allen.

Allen sent emails to various media outlets directing people to Duckett’s campaign website, reelectduckett.com, which highlights many city projects in which Duckett was involved.

Duckett was elected mayor in 2018, after serving on the Farmington City Council from 2014 to 2018. He is running on the platform of “Proven Leadership,” saying in the news release “his leadership has helped position Farmington as a destination for individuals, families and retirees seeking a better quality of life.”

Duckett said he has supported a number of city initiatives that moved Farmington forward in the areas of diversifying the economy, increasing public safety, expanding outdoor recreation opportunities, improving livability and saving and creating jobs.

Duckett said he wants to keep the city of Farmington a “service-first organization” that remains “focused on what matters most.”

He touted his ability to be “vigilant” in “efforts to invest critical local tax dollars into community transformation and economic diversification that has reimagined and grown our public safety divisions, downtown, civic center, river trails, parks and lake.”

Duckett also promised to use his knowledge of business to “continue our investment in reviving our aging public facilities while also investing in our future ones.”

The election is Nov. 7.
