Farmington High School placed on lockdown; lifted when parent arrested

Parent arrested on suspicion of multiple charges

Farmington High School was placed on lockdown at 9:20 a.m. Friday, when a parent “became upset and disorderly during a meeting with faculty,” according to Farmington Police spokeswoman Shanice Gonzales.

The school was placed on preventive lockdown “until the situation was resolved and the parent was taken into custody,” Gonzales stated.

Gonzales said the lockdown was lifted when the parent, Jason Kinney, was arrested and charged with trespassing, disruption of the educational process, resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, battery on a peace officer, DWI and criminal damage to property.
