Farmington’s renowned fireworks display launched Thursday night from Sullivan Hill.
The choreographed show, synchronized to a soundtrack of patriotic music, was simulcast on KWYK 94.9 FM. Popular viewing spots include San Juan College, the Farmington Public Library, and the Farmington Museum & Visitor Center.
Local businesses including Citizens Bank, Farmington Taco Bells and PESCO helped make the show possible.Freedom Days, which began nearly four decades ago, is organized by local volunteers and made possible through sponsorships from civic-minded businesses. Most events are free or low-cost and open to the public.
The multiday celebration kicks off Wednesday, July 2, from 1 to 3 p.m., with the Firecracker Fun Festival at Bisti Bay Waterpark, where guests can enjoy water games, activities, and prizes.
The city of Farmington will mark its 39th annual Freedom Days celebration and the return of its Electric Light Parade Friday or the first time since 2021, with a lineup of family-friendly events, live entertainment, and community spirit.
