Fairgrounds needs event parking help

The fairgrounds is in desperate need of staff onsite to assist in parking during the Ute Mountain Rodeo events.

My family attended the Midway Carnival event. We got there at 5:00 pm and had a good time for two hours. When we walked out to our car we discovered that we were boxed in. Some very rude carnival goers decided it was okay to park behind cars that also had cars parked in front of them. One person did it and everyone else followed suit.

The little white parking lines that we used to guide where we parked were not adhered to by everyone. People were so afraid to walk that they jammed their cars anywhere they could, even if it was inconvenient for others. The Midway crew said it was a fairgrounds issue and, of course, management was nowhere to be found.

When you host a large event, you need staff to avoid these issues every night of the event. It was not fun waiting with an exhausted child for an hour for one of two cars to move so we could leave.

Shame on the fairgrounds management for this oversight and shame on the countless rude drivers that boxed cars in.
