Empire Electric Association has scheduled an outage at its east Cortez substation from midnight to 2 a.m. Thursday.

The outage is necessary to allow EEA and Tri-State crews to upgrade equipment and perform routine maintenance. The upgrade will prepare the substation to accept power generation from the Totten Lake Solar Project. A mobile substation will be placed in service to maintain power delivery while the work takes place.

A second outage will occur from midnight to 2 a.m. March 30 to allow crews to remove the mobile substation and place the substation back in service. Reminder phone calls will made again March 29 for the second outage.
