KTM provided an update on Eli Tomac’s injuries from the crash in Motocross’ Round 1 last weekend, while Jett Lawrence swept both 450SX motocross races on Saturday. Despite Jett’s wins, Hunter Lawrence remains in first for overall points.

KTM did not provide a date that Tomac would return to racing, saying he had hyperextended a ligament and a partially torn muscle in his neck.

“I’m really bummed to get injured early on at the opening round. Since the end of last year when I first threw my leg over the KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition, I said I couldn’t wait to ride this thing outdoors because the engine package is unreal and I felt it would be a lot of fun racing motocross on it,” Tomac said to KTM. “It’s just a shame that a racing incident early on in Moto 1 has really put a dampener on my outdoors season right now, but I will follow my doctor’s orders and rest up with every intention of getting back out there sometime this season.”

In the first moto, Jett Lawrence took the hole shot, with Hunter Lawrence, Prado and Haiden Deegan right behind him. Jett placed first, with Deegan in second and Hunter Lawrence in third.

In the second race, a crash that included Aaron Plessinger and Cooper Webb piled up quite a few riders just seconds into the race, but it was a crash involving Justin Cooper that caused the race to be restarted.

This time, Webb claimed the hole shot with the Lawrence brothers right on his heels. Not long later, the Lawrences passed Webb and raced neck and neck, with Jett Lawrence pulling ahead of his brother to claim the win for Round 2 Motocross.

Chase Sexton moved to third, while Deegan raced in seventh. Deegan, however, quickly made his way to third place, where he remained for the rest of the race.

The next Motocross race of the 2026 season will be held at Thunder Valley Motocross Park in Lakewood, CA.
