Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance invites teachers to an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum, 27501 Highway 184, in Dolores.

Funded by several grants, SCCA will manage an education program about Canyons of the Ancients at the museum as an outreach initiative for the 2018-19 school year. At the open house, teachers will learn about field-trip opportunities, activities and how to help students meet educational objectives.

Those with education or archaeology backgrounds who are interested in teaching are also encouraged to attend.
