Economic-development grant goes to Ute Mountain Utes

The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe has received a $43,650 Partnership Planning Grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA). The grant will be used to establish an economic-development blueprint and strategy to support investment and job growth in the region through public-private partnerships.

“This investment will help the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe develop a framework for fostering economic growth, which is key to strengthening the regions economy, creating jobs, and supporting long-term economic stability,” said U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet in a news release announcing the grant award.

The EDA, within the U.S. Department of Commerce, works to support job growth and economies through innovation and regional collaboration. Partnership Planning Grants support groups like Native American Tribes in establishing comprehensive economic-development strategies.
