The Durango Police Department is investigating a homicide on Plymouth Drive, according to a city news release.

A 51-year-old man was found dead in his home April 13, the release said. A medical examiner ruled the cause of death as a homicide.

La Plata County Coroner Jann Smith declined to provide more information about the incident, citing an open investigation.

A collaborative investigation with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation found there is no public safety concern.

Multiple calls to DPD on Friday seeking more information about the homicide investigation were not returned.
