Drivers of all ages take part in racing action at Kart Kanyon

AZTEC - Nearly 60 drivers, both young and old, took part in racing action over the weekend at Kart Kanyon Speedway in Aztec.

The LunchBox League took the track first with 15 little racers checking in for the evening. They put on a show for the crowd with 3-to 4-wide racing the whole race.

After the LunchBox League races were over the Flat Kart hit the track with nearly 40 drivers checking in.

Ramon Saiz took the checkered flag in the Stock Division followed by Bana and Rivver Higgins, while Robbyn Davies and Sarah McDowell rounded out the top five finishers.

In the Youth Red Plate division, Brayton Carley took the win over Brendan McLaughlin, Khloé Tenski, Griffyn Bandy, and Wyatt Calcote.

Much like his little brother, Bowyer Carley took the win in the Super Stock division followed by Bob Harter, Tyrone Yazzie, Beau and Darrin Blakley. Garron Bandy found the checkers in the Youth Rookie Class followed by Aubree Reinhardt, Kason Murray, Brodie Rector, Brexyn Reinhardt and Kaiden Yazzie.

Next up Aztec Speedway will round out the season with a Cancer Benefit Race during a 2-day weekend event Friday, Oct. 6 and 7 while Kart Kanyon will close out its season on Saturday, Oct. 7. For more information, visit aztecspeedway.com.
