The Rotary Club of Dolores bingo night fundraiser for the Operation Graduation program broke its previous fundraising record, bringing in $3,400 for Dolores High School’s 2026 graduating class.
The donation‑based event was held at the Dolores Community Center. The Rotary Club said the evening drew the largest attendance for a fundraiser of this kind to date, surpassing the previous record by about $1,000.
Attendees were served chili and soup, played bingo and competed in a “highly energetic” dessert auction.
Rotary Club members voted on Tuesday to contribute an additional donation from club funds to Operation Graduation.
Parents of the incoming senior class were key to the bingo night’s success, helping secure prizes from local businesses, organize the meal and handle other tasks.
The dessert auction was the highlight of the evening. The Rotary Club said business owners and family members competitively bid on items to benefit the students. Several county commissioner candidates were also in attendance.
Operation Graduation was created by Dolores parents to offer a supervised, drug‑ and alcohol‑free celebration for seniors on their commencement night. Students travel to Bananas Fun Park in Grand Junction and have the opportunity to win baskets and prizes to support life after graduation.
