Dolores gets in the Halloween spirit

Dolores businesses will have Halloween events Oct. 30 and 31.
Family-friendly trick-or-treating and parties take place all weekend

Spooktacular Days in Dolores will celebrate Halloween on Oct. 30 and 31.

There will be costume parties, pumpkin painting, live music and trick or treating at local businesses and Town Hall. It is organized by the Dolores Chamber of Commerce.

Saturday, Three Chicks Bakery will host a kid costume contest and pumpkin painting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EsoTerra Ciderworks will have a costume party from 6-9 p.m. featuring live music by Noodle.

Sunday, the Dolores Public Library will have a trick-or-treat party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a theme of Davey Jones’ Locker. Kids can also stop by Dolores Town Hall from 5:30-8 p.m. for free candy handed out by the Dolores Fire Protection District.

Local businesses will hand out candy all weekend.

Candy will be given out at Loop’s Coffeehouse and Bistro, Dolores Outfitters, Dolores Food Market, Family Dollar, Terri’s Hair & Nails, Mi Tequila, The Depot, Whistlers Walk, Speedway Gas and From Our Heart Thrift Store, which is also offering 75% off Halloween costumes on Saturday. Mudpuppies Pet Grooming will be handing out dog treats.

On Halloween day and evening, trick-or-treaters are invited to stop by Dolores Town Hall, Dolores Food Market, Dolores Outfitters, Mi Tequila, Speedway, and Montezuma Mexican. Loops Coffee House and Bistro will host its Trunk or Treat party Halloween from 5:30-8 p.m. and offer treats for dogs.

The Montezuma County sheriff and Dolores Fire department will patrol the streets in an effort to keep everyone safe during the Halloween festivities.
