The Dolores Booster Club and the LOR Foundation are partnering with schools to help high school students find affordable prom attire. The Under the Moonlight prom fashion show and pop-up store is set for Saturday, March 7, featuring gently used formal wear donated by community members.
A fashion show at the Sunflower Theatre will showcase students and teachers from Montezuma and Dolores counties modeling items available at the sale.
After the show, from 6 to 9 p.m., students can shop for gowns, suits and accessories at the new Makers’ Space at 209 W. Main St. Southwest Open School will serve mocktails.
Tickets are $5, and ticketholders receive 50% off listed prices at the pop-up store.
The booster club is collecting donations through Thursday, March 5. Accepted items include gently used gowns, shoes, shirts, bow ties, ties, vests, pants and suits.
Donations can be dropped off at Dolores High School, Southwest Open School, GOAL Academy offices, the Dolores Public Library and the Cortez Makers’ Space. Donors receive a complimentary fashion show ticket when donating at participating schools.
