Busy year planned by C of C

The Dolores Chamber of Commerce outlined coming events for 1974 at their meeting on Feb. 26 with Dave Sanford reporting on a contact with Bill Winkler of the Bicentennial Commission. He will meet with the Chamber about the Escalante 200 expedition and events will be sponsored in the connection with this during the next year.

The Dolores Frontier Days of 1974 were set for June 14 and 15, a two-day event. Wayne Carrigan will be in charge of water fights, Lawrence Wilderson and Val Truelsen will be contacted in regard to logging events, Jim Cattles will handle music and other events are yet to be planned.

Also discussed were the C of C banquet date set for Nov. 16, the Christmas lighting ceremony date set for Dec. 2 The Chamber is to contact the town board asking for circular benches to be built around the trees in the town a park and will offer their services to the Rotary Club on the Galloping Goose.

Cooperation with other organizations in town was stressed at the meeting.
