Johnson home heavily damaged by fire Sunday.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnson was heavily damaged by fire last Sunday afternoon. Fire Chief Wayne Carrigan estimates damages at between $10,000 and $12,000.

The Dolores Fire Dept. was called to the fire at the Johnson home about a mile east of Dolores at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. When the Fire Dept.'s tanker trick started running low, individuals from town hauled water in tanks on pick ups to help fight the blaze.

The upstairs of the home was completely gutted, with heavy water and smoke damage to the downstairs. The two girls lost all of their clothing, which was in the upstairs bedrooms, besides the furniture loss. A find ha been set up at the Dolores State Bank to help the family.
