Dolores 40 Years Ago

The town of Dolores will have a budget of $170,861.00 according to figures adopted and published in this week's Star as a Public Notice, which calls for a mill levy of 19 mills on an assessed valuation of $801,415.00

The mill levy is one-half mill lower than last year, and largely reflects the higher assessed valuation of the town property this year. The levy will be certified to the county for inclusion in taxes to be paid next year.

Incomes and expenditures include General Fund $38,585.00, Water Fund $73,369.00. Flood, Street and Alley Fund $22,879.00 and Revenue Sharing Fund $36,028.00

The budget was adopted at a meeting of the Town Board held Wednesday, Oct. 10, at which time board members also accepted an application for transfer of liquor license effective Jan 1, 1974, for the Hollywood Bar subject to a contract providing terms of operation for the business until the first of the year.
