Crow Canyon Archaeological Center has announced the publication of the Basketmaker Communities Project Final Interpretive Report and Companion Database. This marks the organization’s 10th major publication of a multi-year research project accomplished in the context of both public education and American Indian involvement.

The resources serve as a complete look into the Basketmaker Communities Project, a 2011–2017 CCAC research endeavor. The multi-year project focused on the Basketmaker III period (A.D. 500–750), a pivotal, yet under-investigated, time in history. Centering on early Pueblo growth, it addressed research questions pertaining to community organization, migration, environmental change, settlement and land-use patterns and population shifts through time.

The Basketmaker Communities Project was funded in part by grants from the National Science Foundation, the History Colorado State Historical Fund and Earthwatch, with funding for related field and laboratory programs also contributed by the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center.
