Crashes occur on U.S. 160 and Colorado 145

Motorcyclist injured in Montezuma County crash

A one-vehicle crash occurred on Colorado Highway 145 south of Rico Friday afternoon, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

About 2:45 p.m. a 1998 Chevy Blazer with Texas plates crashed and rolled onto its top at mile marker 43, said Sgt. Troy Kessler.

The two occupants escaped uninjured from the crashed Blazer. The 27-year-old male driver was issued a citation, Kessler said. The vehicle was partially blocking the road.

Dolores Volunteer Fire District, Rico Fire Department, Southwest Health System ambulance and the Colorado State Patrol responded.

About noon Wednesday, a motorcycle rider was injured in a crash on U.S. Highway 160/491 south of Road G, according to Master Trooper Gary Cutler.

The rider, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital, according to a Montezuma County sheriff’s deputy. The passenger did not require hospitalization.

The crash occurred in the northbound lane. Details on what caused the crash were not available.
