The Starting Your Business workshop, aimed at guiding aspiring entrepreneurs through the process of starting a small business, will be held Oct. 14 at Cortez City Hall, 123 E. Roger Smith Ave.
The event, organized in partnership with the Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center and the Cortez Retail Enhancement Association, will run from 9 a.m. to noon.
The workshop will cover key steps for launching a business. Topics include business planning, the Business Model Canvas, financing options, legal structure, local resources, taxes and scheduling, and insurance for small businesses. Attendees can schedule a free, confidential one-on-one consulting session with the SBDC following the workshop.
