Water will be unavailable for nearby homes for most of the day

As part of the Seventh Street water line project, the city of Cortez will replace a water valve at South Chestnut and West Seventh streets on Monday, May 11. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or until the work is finished, water will be unavailable in a large section of nearby homes.
Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to fill water containers prior to the water shut off to use during the outage.

- South Chestnut from Fifth Street south to the end of the street (past West Andrew Lane)
- All residences west of South Chestnut from West 10th Street south
- All homes south of Seventh Street between South Chestnut and South Ash streets
- Both sides of South Seventh Street from South Chestnut to South Ash Street
