A Cortez real estate brokerage has joined ERA Real Estate, a global franchising leader and subsidiary of Anywhere Real Estate Inc., to expand technology and resources.

Regents Real Estate Group, led by broker-owner Paul Adams, now operates as Regents Real Estate Group ERA Powered. The partnership allows the firm to keep its identity while gaining access to ERA resources, including training programs, marketing tools, technology and service support.

Adams praised ERA’s technology and marketing resources, saying they give agents powerful tools to promote themselves and stay visible. He added that the offerings matched the systems he had hoped to build on his own and described the affiliation as “my vision wrapped up in a box.”

Regents Real Estate serves Southwest Colorado from its office at 15 W. Main St. in Cortez.

Adams has nearly a decade of Colorado real estate experience, including work as a residential appraiser for Montezuma County. He earned his real estate license in 2017.

Before entering real estate, Adams earned a college degree in photography and worked as a wedding photographer. His photography skills help him produce high-quality listing images for the firm, ERA said in a news release.

Adams has lived in Cortez since 2010 and is originally from San Diego. Mountain biking opportunities, including Phil’s World, helped draw him to the area. He worked for Kokopelli’s for about six years after moving to Cortez.

He emphasizes company culture, avoiding a traditional office model with required desk time. He views real estate as relationship-based and aims to create an environment where agents can be themselves and enjoy their work.

With ERA resources, Adams plans to focus on recruiting and retaining agents and pursue mergers and acquisitions to expand north and east.

“The tools, technology and platforms at our disposal will create greater efficiencies and allow us more time to spend with our clients,” he said. “As past Montezuma County teachers, first responders, builders and principals, we understand the area and its people, and we know that the ERA brand can provide us with more horsepower and help us attract professionals who fit that same mold.”
